Help Spread Safe Riding Message

NOHVA frequently receives requests from various groups asking us to help educate young riders and adults about ATV safety and responsible ATV use.   The requests usually ask for someone to participate in a training seminar with hunting, farm and neighborhood groups.

We are looking for individuals who are interested in helping establish a Safety and Education Committee within NOHVA.

We are looking for people who would be interested in helping with the following jobs:

  1. One person to serve as the “Chairman” of a Safety and Education Committee and perform duties that organize our Safety and Education program.
  2. Several people who will serve as “Team Leaders” who will work with the Chairman to attend seminars and present a short safety and education program.
  3. People to serve as “Support” people to help the Team Leaders at the seminars.
  4. Help develop hand out materials, dealer displays and bill boards that help educate riders about safe and responsible ATV use covering items such as riding on roads, helmet and other safety gear use, staying on trails, trespassing, noise and other hot button ATV related issues.

Our preliminary plan is to find a chairman to establish the Safety and Education Committee using programs and materials that are already in place in other parts of the nation.  The committee would be funded with NOHVA membership fee’s and grants from safety related organizations and possibly from the manufacturers.

If you are interested in participating in this new program, contact Dan Nitzel at 308-381-2143 or email danno@novha.com
